We are now days away from the much-anticipated ‘The Exchange‘ – a forum curated by the British High Commission and India’s premiere talent scouts Submerge, to promote businesses related to the music industry in the UK and India. An initiative by UK Trade and Investment, the forum will see them partner with the adored Indian brand, aiming at creating business opportunities between the UK and India. The motive is to address core concerns within the music industry and serve as a platform for potential business relationships. The day long conference will feature regulatory heads, music label honchos, management agencies and Indian and international artists from the music industry. But its not going to be all work.
The day long conference will lead into a music showcase that will be headlined by UK’s finest dance music artists – John 00 Fleming & Dirty Vegas. The legendary artists will bring their wide range of musical depth and experience in a very special three day music tour across India. Both the artists will perform in Mumbai & Bangalore post the conference, with Fleming continuing his India Exchange Tour to Pune. UK-based Grammy-winning duo Steve Smith and Paul Harris, popularly known as Dirty Vegas, rose to the top with their debut single‘Days Go By’ in 2001. With album sales reaching the 1 million mark, a whirlwind world tour with Moby and Groove Armada, they went on to produce 2 more albums, got a hit no. 1 on the Billboard Dance Chart and had their music featured on major film and TV shows. When the two are not producing, they are on tour as they have an ardent fan base in the clubbing circuit within UK and across the world.
John 00 Fleming is perhaps one of the biggest names in the Trance fraternity, and its a position he has been consistently maintained through the years. The Producer-DJ from Worthing, West Sussex, has had releases on record labels such as Ministry of Sound, Deconstruction Records, Logic Records and 3 Beat Music and has performed at various clubs including Cream, Gatecrasher, Ministry of Sound and Godskitchen. In 1999, after many releases, remixes and compilations, he formed the trance label – J00F Recordings. With over 10 million album sales and 30 produced mix compilations, J00F is a proven musical pioneer whose essence lies in what his fans call, ‘the J00F sound‘- an and best described by the artist himself, a deep and textured progressively edged trance, in an electronic dance music style that is an antithesis to what is normally produced within the genre.
Catch these two musical giants on tour in India this month alongwith a host of Indian acts, giving audiences a perfect example of the mergence between artists from UK & India.
