Several of us have been quick to judge people according to their taste in music. Many of us have even commented on how dumb the music is. Well, here’s a study by software application writer Virgil Griffith to back all your claims and make you feel less guilty about them! Originally from 2009, the study browses the 133 most popular (out of 1,455) favorite music from 1,352 schools and has been recently given its visual representation. While you can find the methods and techniques used by Griffith here, the mean SAT across the schools is 1071 out of 1600. While Beethoven, Bob Dylan and Sufjan Stevens rate high on the scale, Beyonce, T.I and Lil Wayne find themselves among the bottom rung. Techno finds itself somewhere in between. Have a look at the scale and see where you find yourself with your taste in music!
